The House
Built on Restraint
The Beginning
Vellarc began as a refusal.
A refusal to accept that luxury and ease were incompatible. That the most considered garment in your wardrobe had to announce itself loudly. That price had to perform as branding.
We set out to make a single thing — a hoodie — better than it had ever been made. Not through novelty. Through obsession.
Years of sourcing led us to a 500gsm French terry blend of extra-long staple cotton and Grade-A cashmere, milled in Portugal by a family that has been weaving for four generations. We wash it. We stone it. We rest it. Then we cut it.
The result is something that resists description until you hold it. Dense but weightless. Structured but forgiving. It does not ask for your attention. It simply rewards it.
Craftsmanship
French Terry Weight
A density that demands attention and holds its shape across years, not seasons.
Production Time
From cut to finish, each piece receives over seventy-two hours of dedicated attention.
Mill Heritage
Our fabric partner has woven cloth in the same Alentejo building since 1948.
Our Values
Material Integrity
Every fabric begins as a conversation with the mill. We source only what we cannot improve upon.
Atelier Construction
Each piece is cut and assembled by hand in small batches. Speed is never a value we pursue.
Minimal Branding
The garment speaks first. Our mark is earned, not announced.
Intentional Release
We release when ready. Not by season, not by trend — by standard.
